Gautham Krishnaraj is the Executive Director of Humanitarian Partners International (HPI), a Montreal-based organization focused on providing humanitarian training through high-fidelity simulation exercises and consulting. He has over a decade of experience in the humanitarian training and professionalization space and is the Evaluation Lead for the Canadian Red Cross Emergency Response Unit (ERU) Training. His doctoral research focused on ethical innovation in humanitarian contexts, through which he led the development of the Humanitarian Innovation Fund (HIF) Ethics Toolkit. He has served as an external reviewer and ethics mentor for HIF, GCC, WFP, and the European Commission High Tech for Humanitarian Aid Prize, as well as several smaller organizations.
Gautham is also an Adjunct in the Department of Medicine – Division of Education and Innovation at McMaster University and a Teaching Fellow in Global and Population Health Program at Queen’s University. Outside of work, he can be found struggling to keep his ’86 Nighthawk running through a whole summer, collecting half-marathon participation medals, and bringing people together for elaborate weekday dinners.
