Katherine Liakos


Katherine is a monitoring, evaluation, and learning specialist with over 12 years in international development across Latin America, Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia, including Ethiopia, Pakistan and three years in the Andes of Peru. Katherine has expertise in developing monitoring and evaluation frameworks and theories of change, designing and conducting qualitative research, and managing evaluations. She also enjoys working with NGOs and implementing organisations to develop their internal M&E capacities. She strives to ensure evaluations and studies are useful for clients and support evidence-based decision making.

Katherine always includes a gender and social inclusion lens and a strong focus on community participation where possible. Katherine has evaluated projects in thematic areas such as conflict, stability and security in Mali, energy access for refugees in Burkina Faso, Kenya and Jordan, off-grid energy in rural Tanzania, gender-based violence in sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia, WASH in northern Mozambique, and sustainability globally. She has delivered projects for the World Bank, UNICEF, USAID Power Africa, UK FCDO including the Conflict, Security and Stability Fund (CSSF) in West Africa.

Katherine holds a joint honour’s degree in French and Linguistics, and a master’s in Development Studies from the University of Leeds, UK. Katherine speaks English, French and Spanish and regularly works in bilingual settings.
